This limited edition model was released in 1969 to commemorate man’s first steps on the moon. It is the first solid gold Speedmaster as well as the first numbered edition for Speedmaster. Only 1,104 pieces were made and this example is number 5XX, as engraved on the special tribute caseback. This watch also features a solid gold dial (“OM Swiss Made OM”) and original burgundy DON bezel that has faded naturally. Case (42mm) and bracelet are unpolished. |
